Wide Horizons For Children is transparent about our fees. In domestic adoptions, total cost for adoption will depend on whether a family is matched with a child directly through Wide Horizons For Children or through a second adoption agency. We strive to make paying for your adoption as easy as possible to understand. A fee schedule for domestic adoption is included in our Adoption Information Guide.
In domestic adoption, there are three types of fees to consider:
Agency Fees
These are fees that are paid directly to Wide Horizons For Children and cover our costs to process and manage your adoption. Agency fees include:
- Registration fee
- Home study fees
- Four agency fees related to milestones in the adoption process
- Post Placement fees
Third-Party Costs
These are fees that are either collected by Wide Horizons for Children and paid to third-party providers, or you will be required to pay directly to third-party providers, such as educational organizations or partner agencies. These fees may include:
- Adoptive family profile
- Fingerprinting
- Adoption education class fees
- Placement fees if your match is through another entity
Travel and Other Costs
Travel and other expenses may be incurred in some adoptions. These include:
- Domestic airfare
- Lodging, meals and ground transportation
- Uninsured medical expense
- Placement fees if your match is through another entity
