Adam – born March 2017
Adam is a sweet and gentle boy waiting for his forever home! Adam was brought into care in 2018 and has lived with a loving foster family since. He is the youngest of a large family. His biological parents unfortunately lacked the economic resources to care for him. Adam is a happy boy who loves to smile! He will bring so much joy into your lives!
Adam is diagnosed with Down Syndrome and associated Congenital Heart Disease. Additionally, Adam was born with an Imperforate Anus which is a birth defects that obstructs the digestive tract. Surgical intervention was performed to correct the defect. Despite the correction of his digestive system, Adam has challenges swallowing that requires him to be fed solely through an abdominal feeding tube. Adam takes medications for hypothyroidism and to prevent seizures. Both of these conditions appear well managed at this time. Adam is not enrolled in school or day care; however, he receives continued support from occupational therapists and psychologists to help promote his development. He is able to roll over, sit on his own, and stand and walk with help. While he does not speak, he babbles and readily communicates through body language, gestures and smiles. Adam is a social boy who loves spending time with his caregivers and engaging through play!
Adam adapts well to change and integrates well into a family setting. Love and support are necessities for Adam. He needs a family who will welcome him with love and who will support his medical and developmental needs. Adam is a joy!
