Eli is an empathetic and loving boy who expresses excitement and hope about finding a forever home. When prompted about his new family, Eli responded: “I want a family that loves me, that loves me a whole lot. I want parents who care for me and can give me kisses”. Are you ready to welcome this affectionate boy into your life and give him all the hugs and kisses he deserves?
Eli is described as being caring and happy but has sadly experienced trauma and instability in his past. He has been the victim of emotional and physical abuse that required surgical intervention. Despite this, his resilience and determination are noteworthy and he has a strong ability to adapt and connect positively with caregivers despite his inconsistent and unsafe past. Additionally, Eli has Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and associated impulse control behaviors and is responding well to therapeutic and pharmacologic intervention. Due to the lack of stimulation and engagement in his early years, Eli is cognitively delayed and struggles with literacy and mathematics in school. He also has a slightly delayed motor development that causes minor difficulties in his daily life. Despite this, Eli loves to run around the park and play a game of basketball. He also enjoys playing with cars and letting his creative juices flow while making sculptures with clay. Eli bonds quickly and strongly with trusted adults but he sometimes engages in rough play at school that presents as a social barrier with his peers. Eli has a heart of gold though, and his actions do not represent his intentions. Through therapeutic support, he is correcting these behaviors.
Eli needs affection and comfort from his new family. While he requires additional support in academic, social, and self-care activities, he is a determined boy with a fun-loving and silly personality with an incredibly bright future. Eli is motivated to succeed and expresses happiness when he reaches his goals and overcomes an obstacle. Eli can’t wait for a permanent family and is ready to give you the biggest hug when he gets the chance to meet you!
