Leave a Legacy and Transform a Child’s Life!
Make the donation of a lifetime with a legacy gift to Wide Horizons For Children! There are two easy ways to do this.
Charitable Bequests
A charitable bequest can be made when you name WHFC in your will. This is ideal for those of you who would like to do something meaningful with their assets after they pass on, but want to have access to their funds while they’re enjoying their lives. This is a simple and flexible way to leave us a legacy gift. You may designate a percentage of your estate, a specific amount, or even a particular asset — e.g. cash, stocks, mutual funds, IRAs, or retirement funds.
Tax advantages include a federal estate-tax deduction and a state tax deduction for the amount of the bequest.
Beneficiary Designation
A beneficiary designation can be made when you name WHFC as a beneficiary. This is ideal for a donor who wants to maximize the value of their unused retirement plan or life-insurance assets. You can name WHFC as a beneficiary of qualifying retirement accounts, including IRA, 401K, and life insurance policies. You can also consider making WHFC a contingency beneficiary, in the event that the primary beneficiary is no longer living.
Tax advantages include federal estate-tax deduction for the amount of the gift and no income-tax liability for other beneficiaries of your estate. And 100% of the gift is disbursed directly from the custodian to WHFC.
