(Review of File and Search through Holt)
Wide Horizons For Children and our partner agency in South Korea (Holt Children’s Services) work together to assist you in seeking information about and connections with your birth family.
Wide Horizons For Children can help:
- Explain the search process in South Korea.
- Help you prepare Holt inquiry paperwork.
- Represent you in contact with Holt (including translation services).
- Guide you in writing a letter/update to your birth family.
- Serve as an intermediary for contact.
- Provide support and guidance during the entire process.
PLEASE NOTE:
The process in South Korea regarding file access and search is changing and responsibility is being transferred to The National Center for the Rights of the Child (NCRC). We will provide updated instructions and services once we have clearer information about their process. As of mid April 2025, Holt Children’s Services is no longer able to accept additional requests for file review or search. We very much believe the new process will be equally helpful, but that the NCRC may need a bit of time to establish their process and procedures. You are welcome to sign up for this service if you wish to access on-going support. Or, feel free to email adoption@whfc.org and ask to be put on a list to be notified once the new process is known.
