campaign for children in crisis

Campaign for Children in Crisis

Every child deserves the love of a family, yet today, millions of children risk growing up without one,  left vulnerable to hunger, exploitation, and despair when poverty pushes families past the breaking point. A parent’s death, a medical emergency, the loss of a job, or famine can collapse a household already on the edge, leaving children to face the world alone. The World Health Organization estimates that 150 million children are living without families worldwide, a number that continues to rise.

The Campaign for Children in Crisis is a $10 million initiative to meet this urgent need through addressing the root causes of family separation and expanding proven programs.

In Our Donors’ Words…

Our Impact Together

Beyond numbers, the story of WHFC is one of transforming the lives of children in some of the most remote and impoverished areas in the world.

Carlos

Carlos.

Sometimes, all it takes is 1 person to start a trend. In our Family Preservation program in rural Guatemala, that person is Carlos. And the trend is staying in school through high school.

From Poverty to Professor

From Poverty to Professor.

As a child, Dawit barely had enough to eat. Thanks to WHFC’s Child Sponsorship program, he was able to secure sufficient funds to not only get the nutrition he needed, but to thrive in school. Now he is an associate lecturer at the Mekelle Institute of Technology in northern Ethiopia.

She Couldn’t Walk or Go to School

She Couldn’t Walk or Go to School.

Baraka, who uses a wheelchair, might have had a very different life, begging on the streets. But thanks to sponsorship and your support, she lives every day with purpose and joy.
